ABOUT
DIFFA
The
Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS (DIFFA) is one of the
largest grantors of HIV/AIDS service and education program funding
in the U.S. Since its founding in 1984, DIFFA has mobilized the
immense resources of the design communities to provide over $35
million to hundreds of AIDS organizations nationwide. Starting with
volunteers from fashion, interior design, furnishings and architecture,
supporters of DIFFA now come from every field associated with fine
design. With 12 chapters nationwide, DIFFA has been a social catalyst
in drawing local and national corporations into the fight against
the epidemic.
Since
its inception in 1993, DIFFA Seattle has granted local HIV/AIDS
service organizations nearly $500,000. This success is a credit
to the design industry's compassion towards people in need. Of utmost
importance in DIFFA Seattle's efforts have been its chic and innovative
events, attracting a well-rounded audience of all ages committed
to having fun and making a difference.
Our
chapter operates entirely on volunteer energy; we employ no paid
staff.
